Certificate of Civic Engagement
The Certificate in Civic Engagement offers students an opportunity to connect their academic learning with service learning in the community.
Through this program, students will be exposed to opportunities to create change through their knowledge and experiences, which are grounded in their academic program. The goal is to help students see that, regardless of their academic, personal and professional interests, there are services that they can do to benefit our community.
This undergraduate certificate awards 16 credit hours for two required courses (4 credit hours) and four self-selected service learning courses (12 credit hours).
Completion of this certificate will complement any degree students are completing at NKU. This certificate may make them more marketable for work with nonprofit agencies, schools, government agencies and other organizations that work directly with the community.
