Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice

The associate of arts degree in Criminal Justice promotes student understanding of the three major aspects of the criminal justice system: police, courts, and corrections.

The program seeks to prepare students for pursuing a bachelor’s degree and careers in criminal justice and allied fields. Rather than training individuals for a particular occupation through instruction in specific vocational skills, the program offers a broad, liberal education focused on the acquisition of substantive knowledge, the cultivation of analytical and creative thought, and the ability to read, write, and speak effectively.

Students in the associate degree program in criminal justice must earn at least a C- in each JUS course to be counted as part of the program.
