Latin American & Caribbean Studies

The interdisciplinary minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies gives students an understanding of the history, culture and politics of the region. Students entering the program can pursue any major and will receive a certificate at graduation attesting to successful completion of the minor

The requirement for this minor is 21 semester hours. Students must select one Latin American course from political science, history, geography and anthropology  to complete 12 semester hours. The other nine hours will be elective courses dealing with Latin America or with the Spanish language.
